Blynn’s extensive experience as a patent examiner with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) gives him an edge. For four years, Blynn determined the patentability of hundreds of inventions. His knowledge of patent prosecution from both sides – as an examiner and as a prosecuting attorney – is an advantage he exploits to his clients’ benefit. His familiarity with the regular updates to the Code of Federal Regulation for Patent Practice is a resource to fellow attorneys; his colleagues regularly call on him to resolve questions about the patent rules, and he has been known to quote the appropriate section from memory.

Blynn has built a solid career upon the foundation of a B.S. degree from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy, and a law degree received with honors from George Washington University (GWU). His education is of particular value to his clients: he not only received a world-class education in engineering at CMU, but he learned intellectual property law from USPTO experts, who also serve as faculty at GWU. Combined with his own experience with the USPTO and a successful career with a large Pittsburgh law firm, Blynn’s credentials are impressive indeed.

Yet his credentials alone cannot explain his success or the loyalty of his clients. It is the man himself that makes the difference. While Blynn’s clients appreciate his experience and competence in all intellectual property matters, it is the ease of working with him and the feeling that he truly has their best interests at heart that inspires their loyalty. Dealing with matters of law can be complicated, and intellectual property law perhaps the most complicated of all. Blynn makes it simple. Blynn makes it enjoyable. He loves what he does and it shows.
